Wasn’t tomorrow wonderful?*
This series explores our evolving relationships with technology and the future.Mid-century America routinely introduced us to shiny, colorful devices and electronic gadgets. Year after year, we were invited to imagine an exciting new world where our problems were solved and life was easy.
That optimism seems to have faded in 2025. Those inspired designs have been replaced by the slabs of glass on our walls and in our pockets. Technology feels invasive, frustrating and borderline dystopian.
These paintings aspire to revisit technologies when they were fun, enriched our lives, and inspired us to wonder what’s ahead.
